Recap: “Nothing Else Will Do” Showcase
Events, Jungle Buzz — By JGM Staff on August 31, 2010 at 1:14 amThe “Nothing Else Will Do” showcase made a lot of noise at 420 Lounge on the Upper West Side of NYC. People came out with hopes of seeing fresh hip hop talent from Great MC’s. Esquire The Great, straight from Florida, performed the opening act. He was then followed up by Crimson and Ellementt. Their performances undoubtedly had the crowd jumping and the ladies screaming for more. Crimson and Ellementt did separate acts but they ended it with a song they collaborated on. St Joe Louis brought down the house with their hype stage presence and Brick City style. Their presence was immediately felt once the lead MC Elete, stood on top of a couple of chairs with dreads swinging and uplifting lyrics. Last but not least, was Staten Island’s own Swizzy Swinton, closing the show with his energetic swagger and provocative yet comical lyrics. He brought out the best of everyone at the end of the night. The showcase gave all of the MC’s a chance to perform and test their skills in front of the audience. They all gave 5-star performances, you’re definitely looking at the future of hip hop!
