Twist & Amaze | Bowery Wall
Art, Culture, Jungle Buzz — By JGM Staff on September 4, 2010 at 1:42 amThe Bowery wall, known for it’s timeless murals since the early 80′s. Many artists from all over the world have made their mark and have had their time share on this broad wall, located on the busy intersection of Bowery and Houston street in NYC. Timeless murals from artists like Blu & Os Gemeos from Brazil to Obey Clothing founder Shepard Fairey , they were also the last previous artist on the wall. The present muralist that own the wall now are Amaze and Barry Mcgee AKA Twist from California. The mural that they have up there now isn’t so much of a mural but more like hall of fame piece, paying homage to many New York graffiti artist from the old school as well as the new. They are the first to ever present anything like this, a wall with hundreds of tags from famous writers, mimicking their writing styles. It almost looks like they called up every writer and had a huge red spray paint frenzy. Only time will tell how long the mural will last though. Who will have their time next?
