The “Swag Journal”
Art, Jungle Buzz — By JGM Staff on December 31, 2010 at 2:02 amProbably one of the illest female graffiti artist to come out of Queens,NY , Utah Oner is one dope chick. The fun part in graffiti is the mystery behind the person behind the taggers name. You always wanna know who is behind that dope work , is it a guy or a girl? By the way that Utah writes and the ground that she covers you would think that she was a dude if we didn’t tell you. So besides her having a awesome graffiti style and all city fame, Utah has helped produce “Swag Journal”. Swag Journal is a 21 page limited newspaper that consists of unique photos and art from the staffs perspective. Swag Journal is now available for 7 dollars but there are only 1000 printed in each edition, grab yours here!
“We look for people doing stuff that we would like to see more of, things that avoid cliches and haven’t been done a million times over.” And they’ve found just that. SWAG overlaps the candid photography of Aaron Smith and Mark Cross with kaleidoscopic scans by Evan Robarts. Plus an incredible installation involving two toilets and a joining rainbow of their possible contents by Viktor Briestensky, and heaps more. On top of that, SWAG is unassumingly concerned with only one thing, “showcasing good art by people that we feel have talent.” – Utah
