King Mez & Khrysis – The King’s Khrysis (FreEP)

Music — By on March 2, 2011 at 4:27 am

After months of build up, young North Carolina rhyme spitta’ King Mez and fellow NC representative, producer Khrysis, finally dropped their anticipated freEP The King’s Khrisis. The pair cohesively constructed six tracks for the collaborative release which was anticipated by fans after the heightened spotlight on Mez in the new year with his delivery of refreshing and very well received songs like “Champions” (Prod. by Ski Beatz and Apple Juice Kid), and leaking cuts off the freEP including “Nightmares” and “Somethings Missing.” While some have already been left in awe by the 20 year old’s music an extensive and complete offering of original King Mez material has never been available until now.

The King’s Khrysis is presented by some respected names in blogging/online music sites including Nahright, DJ Booth and the tar heel state’s own Herfection. Features on the EP include Phonte (of Little Brother), Thee Tom Hardy, Sean Boog and DJ Flash. This is a high caliber project by Mez and Khrysis, who clearly have an effective music making chemistry. The King’s Khrysis will only further reaffirm the budding artist’s talents as listeners await a full length LP. Catch the download below and if you’re headed to Austin this month for SXSW 2011 then catch the soon to be rising MC performing on stage at the 2Dopeboys showcase.
