June 21st marked the longest day of the year which was the first day of summer, also launched off the national Go Skateboarding day. The city streets were  overran with skaters that day , local skate spots were packed , skate parks , basically anywhere you could skate there were skaters there. We headed over the Williamsburg Bridge to attend a skate competition in Mc Carren Park held by Red Bull, 5BORONYC, and Maloof Money Cup, along the way the long slope down the bridge served as a thrill ride for all types of boarders. To see all of these kids from all different boroughs come together and ride down that bridge together was just beautiful and timeless. We got to the Mc Carren skate competition to witness a sea of skaters all lined up soul train style to see who can land the best  ollie over about 7 or 8 boards. That was pretty dope to watch the winner of that contest took home a thousand dollars. This day definitely let us realize how precious the skateboard is to NYC and to skaters all around the world.
