The Big Picture: London Riots
Jungle Buzz — By Logoism on August 10, 2011 at 7:25 pmEarlier this week a slew of different videos have uploaded on youtube showing the community of Tottenham,North London violently rioting over the death of 29 year old Tottenham native Mark Duggan. Mark Duggan is said to be a well known offender in Tottenham, according to the Daily Mail UK, Mark Duggan became aware that he was being followed and opened fire on officers. The officer who was hit with Mark’s bullet in his chest survived by his radio that was tucked in his left breast pocket where the bullet was lodged. The officers retaliated and opened fire back at Mark and killed him on sight. Now you don’t have to be a genius in law to tell who was right and wrong. Mark Duggan happened to be an “Elder”, a well known and respected individual in the area of Tottenham, where residents of that neighborhood once rioted in 1985 over the death of PC Kieth Blakelock.
To show their remorse for Mark, residents in the area took to the streets to show the law no mercy. It’s said that the damage to North London amounts to millions, a lot of store fronts and big department stores served as free shopping spree’s to looters during the riots. Buildings being burned, cops in swat and riot gear with shields, and K-9′s on attack. It’s something you thought you would never see again since the Rodney King riots in California. There’s a lot of mixed stories and you know the media is probably hiding something, some say the people there are rioting because of years of mistreatment from the law, some say they are rebelling on the government there. All I know is that when it’s all over with, those people still have to live there, look at what they have to come home to now. If this happened in NY,which will probably never happen because the NYPD would shoot everyone, but if it did how would you react? Would you join the rioters, loot, or stay away?
