Today we want to introduce you to the new family on the block, get familiar with Community 54. The name takes a hint from the legendary city night spot Studio 54, but this isn’t a place to come and boogie down, more like a place to come and get dressed down. The old concrete bar turned vinatge boutique is now home to rare Ralph Lauren pieces and custom made Members Only Jackets. The entrance of Community 54 holds an arcade with classic games like Pac Man and Street fighter, it almost looks like the game room at Coney Island. On the outside portion of the store or the backyard portion, are walls covered in graffiti from NY’s finest. The backyard is also used for events, the stores latest event featured a live performance from the young up and upcoming group A$AP, other celebrity appearances in there were from Teyanna Taylor and Soulja Boy who spent a nice amount of change on some rare items. To give the store more of an nostalgic feel, there is a photo booth directly in the middle of the stores walkway, photos of their guests can be seen on the counter. Oh, and did we mention that they brew their own beer? Yeah this is almost like vintage shopping heaven. The store has just opened up and is doing pretty well, we stopped by to browse and talk to the owner Daymon Green. We must say that it’s pretty dope, check the flicks below and visit it for yourself, Community 54 on 54 Clinton Street LES, NY.
