The first one he did for his hometown of Philly got the most notoriety and popped everything off, through 2011 he has become more recognized as an creative advertiser for his works.
The film documents the notorious graffiti legend, Steven “ESPO” Powers as he returns to his old stomping grounds in Philadelphia to paint a series of 50 murals on rooftops along the train line Market. Also in the film weaves the fictional narrative of FIRE, a young graffiti king who is fresh out of prison on a quest to win back the love and attention of His ex-girlfriend. A Love Letter For You mixes a local cast with real-life characters As They rediscover the soul of West Philly and it’s dynamic community.
Moved by Powers’ passion for graffiti and for his hometown, Philadelphia, and continued with the support of local institutions, ‘A Love Letter For You’ has already been the subject of a book , exhibitions and publications, and now comes a documentary film directed by Joey Garfield and written and produced by Powers to better tell the story behind this unique public art project which is liked so much to be repeated even in New York .
