There’s no doubt that hip hop first got rockn’ in The Bronx, but no borough has birthed so many successful emcee’s like Queens, NY. From LL Cool J and Run DMC in the 80′s to artists like Nas and Mobb Deep in the 90′s. Even til this day Queens is still blooming artists , some we covered like Action Bronson, Worlds Fair,  and Eric Sosa. Today we introduce you Julian Stephen, a young and ambitious artist out of Queens that is striving to make it out and leave his mark just like those before him.

JGM: Who is Julian Stephen?

JS: He’s a witty big kid at heart that has an awkward approach for everything. Telling stories from the eyes of the underdog he’ll tell you the truth with a smile on his face. He can be charming and an asshole at the same time, but honest.

JGM: Who is Alien & Kick?

JS: Alien n’ Kick is an improvisational online sitcom I created that’s based off of my life outside of the music world. It has an old school vibe, bringing back the classic sitcom feel.

JGM: What are some things that come to mind when you think of queens and hip hop?

JS: I think of artists that musically revolutionize the game and not only understand the meaning of being a successful rapper but the true definition of being an artist. I think of longevitity, pushing boundaries, & being hungry & humble.

JGM: Describe a weekend night at Jiggy’s crib.

JS: Lmao, honestly I would if I could remember any of them.

JGM:  Is the enrollment video based on your life now? And if it is what would you like to change?

JS: Yeah it is, I would like to appreciate the small things in life, make wiser decisions and cherish the moments we can’t get back & stop paying attention to dumb hoes.
