Recap: “LOCAL” Art Show

LOCAL was set up featuring inner city artist from NYC that are moving in the same direction and being great in their craft. The show featured 12 artists such as Nicholas Hunt, Jessica Murphy, Beau, Vashtie Kola, Ian Nettleton, Micah Belamarich, Kunle Martins, Scott Williams, Victor Roman, Salehe Bembury, Gordon Stevenson, and Angie Chavez. All of these up coming artists from NY help shape the city they live in, they stand as leaders of their generation by spreading creativity through their work. Every artist brought a different element into the gallery with pieces consisting of illustrations, pop-art, contemporary art and photography. Close to 300 attendees and all sorts of legendary/respected artists and influencers came through to the show to check out what these artists have created. Cope 2, Indie 184, Swizz Beatz and Dame Dash all stopped by to indulge in the work of the new creative era. Check out our recap below. The event was held at CATM Chelsea in NYC and was curated by designer & illustrator Salehe Bembury. The LOCAL show will be up for a little while, so make sure you go and check out very rare pieces of NYC’s upcoming local artist.

This article got it twisted. There were three good pieces (erased graffiti, discarded beauty and banana flag) in a sea of crap not worthy of printing on a t-shirt.
Sounds like a bitter hater. $100 says he has no talents.
