Video: MNDR – “C.L.U.B.”Music — By Janiece Lincoln on July 16, 2012 at 3:35 am
MNDR knows how to give you a night of your life. With the release of their interactive video for “C.L.U.B.” the New York City native duo has integrated their listeners in an original way. The interactive video not only features their new electro pop song, but also it links to your Facebook account and personalizes the video experience for you.
The entire video is from the perspective of an iPhone camera. From the beginning, upon approving the Facebook connection, you are personally invited to an event for the week. While watching the video unfold and the travel take place to New York, more personalization takes place. You get a great visual of the city life while more messages are rolling in from friends and colleagues that you may find to be familiar. MNDR takes it to the next level when the music has a live performance and the lens’ perspective is now on stage, watching the show from the same vantage point as the duo and later backstage.
Imagine if more artists continue to experiment with the music video experience. It’s definitely what listeners have been unknowingly asking for. As the music industry changes to adapt to the technological and virtual age, this is certainly headed in the right direction. Millions are no longer sitting in front of midnight television screens watching videos but now they are streaming vast amounts of information simply to their smart phones and tablets. Music videos are being put into actual hands now.
MNDR is set to release an album entitled, “Feed Me Diamonds,” this summer on August 14. This “C.L.U.B.” video release might have been enough to gain some summer hype and make a few summer playlists.
