Royal Purp Photography
Art, Culture — By Logoism on October 8, 2012 at 9:45 pmThere’s something so raw and original about this mans handwork with a camera, using no special lighting and just his eyes and imagination as his focus, Mougabe “Purp” St. Louis captures some of the illest photos I’ve ever seen. He’s had the pleasure of capturing pictures for rap artists at the start of their careers, he has a slew of personal photos of Melo-X, shot for Big K.R.I.T in New Orleans before his big mixtape debut, and he can also look back at Smoke DZA’s “George Kush The Button” mixtape cover and say “that photo was taken by me.” But taking pictures for stars has never been his passion, I mean sure who wouldn’t want the credit or the pay, but most of his photos revolve around street life, aesthetics, women and his close friends. I like to call him the “Eye Of The Ghetto”, he takes notice to the simplest of things that we pass everyday on the street and makes it look like a million cash through his lens. I’m really happy to announce that he has finally opened up and decided to finally share his personal work on the web at his new website. You’ll find powerful photos like the ones below on there, check them out below and also check his personal tumblr for randomness out of his persona.
