JGM: What exactly is “Trillwave R&B”?
LG: Trillwave is chillwave but trill. Very entrancing, very soothing.
JGM: You put out three mixtapes within five months, how often do you record?
LG: Whenever my mood isn’t so swingy. Whenever I feel something too tough in my soul and I need to find some sort of peace. Like I need to release all of this energy I’ve been absorbing. Essentially, music is my “stress ball” so to speak. A way to express my emotions freely, verbally. Emotions are unpredictable.. I’m just learning how to work with them. A stamp in my journey.
JGM: Do you feel High Grade 2 is your best body of work?
LG: All of my projects are different in their own way. Each unique in how they tell different stories and evoke different emotions. I can’t really compare any of them, my mind was different during each recording process.
JGM: How do you come up with cool song titles like “Tekken 5″ and “WWE Raw”?
LG: Whatever is on our minds or around the area at the moment is the song title target. Something about the day, that sticks out to the producer and I.
JGM: What are some of your favorite activities?
LG: I read a lot about a lot of things. I like learning, I cook a lot , I clean up a lot. I write a lot, Try to figure out things a lot.
JGM: What has moving from Orlando to L.A done for you?
LG: Orlando helped me to understand the earth. I loved the weather there so I was always outside. There are so many trees there so much of the color green. Moving to LA , has changed my life, opened a lot of doors for me, and also become the where place my thirst for knowledge has increased. I really do miss seeing green , and the humid rainstorms of Florida though.
JGM: What three songs from what artists have the most plays on your iTunes?
LG: Fixing a whole – The Beatles, A love of my own – Eric Benet, Honey – Ohio Players, currently at least.
JGM: Would you work with those artists?
LG: Yes, If it were possible.
JGM: What would you say has the most influence on your music?
LG: My emotions. My feelings and my logic are in a love hate relationship right now… Newlywed phase. So like, its rough getting each to coincide. The marriage is bliss when they do work together.
JGM: Are you single, what characteristics should a guy have if he wants to be with you?
LG: Yeaaah, see me.. I’m just really an at home type of love. Whatever is pure will stick.
JGM: Where would you like to be this time next year?
LG: In Iceland.
JGM: Do you have any tattoos, what are their meanings?
LG: I have 4 tattoos of things that hold no importance to anyone but me. Weird things, a lotus flower outline, something in Arabic, a bullet shell with lipstick and the Eye of Ra inside of the sun. Things I like.
JGM: What can we expect from you in 2013?
LG: Lots of love.
